Kicking off from Port Said, the National Health Insurance Project chose Port Said General Hospital to be its place of birth before it started expanding throughout the rest of the country.
The project consisted of four phases working in parallel. First was renovating and lifting the efficiency of a 7 floors ER building for all items, starting from concrete treatment all the way to finishes and specialty items like medical gases, HVAC, and Fire Fighting. The second phase was establishing a new building for clinics equipped with the latest gear needed.
In the third phase, a 1700 msq 2 floors building was designed and executed in less than 8 months to connect the existing emergency building with the rest of the hospital, its ground floor included the hospital’s kitchens and laundry rooms. As for the first floor, it included 6 fully equipped surgery units.
